What are the five most common causes of destructive conflict in startups and how do I avoid them? Why does conflict escalate and how can I help break the cycle? Why should startups nip conflict in the bud more than most other types of companies?
Startups are high speed, high output, high pressure, high energy entities that often hold within them teams of people from different backgrounds, with different ideas, and with different ways of looking at the world. Those ideal ingredients for building something amazing and new and profitable also create the perfect environment for conflict.
The shift from creative tension to destructive conflict is fascinating. This class will help you understand more about what is going on in their businesses, and come to resolutions that enable them to be more productive, profitable, and focused on their mission.
Planning on 60 minutes that could easily extend into 90 minutes if time is allowed.
1. Escalation of Conflict
2. Conflict Curve Explanation with Interventions
3. Interventions that you can control
4. Leaning into Conflict
5. Self-awareness – Conflict Styles exercise(s)
6. Top 5 reasons Startups have conflict
7. Open Discussion and Q&A.
